After ten years on the job, i'm finally getting the weekends off. First off, I work 3-11. I never get to spend time with the wife and kids. The wife works a day job and the kids are back in school. While i'm home, they are at work or school. So this is a big deal for me. We will finally be able to spend some time together as a family. My wife and I will be able to go on rides together and hang out with friends. Most of all, i'll be able to hang out with my kids. The last few years it has seemed like i've been watching them grow up from a distance. Now i'll be right there with them, even if it is only two days a week. Just thought i'd share my joy.

Bama, very happy for you! Sometimes life turns out to be lopsided working more than living and time flies by. Great to hear it has turned back the other direction for you:thumbsup:

That's great bama!!!

I was fortunate enough to have a job for the last 16 years that I worked straight days. Now, after our plant closing, I'm going back to school and getting into the medical field as a Personal Support Worker. Not going to be anymore straight days for me being the bottom person on the totem pole. Fortunately while I'm in school (til April) it's Tues.-Friday 9am-4pm. Won't have to miss any of my daughter's hockey this season.

I feel your pain brother. I hope it all works out to the good for you. My daughter just started her Fall soccer season. I'll be able to go to her games on Saturday now. Wish your daughter luck for me.
