Well today fellow ShadowRiders I was almost RoadKill In fact it might have been Pegscrapers cosin:no: Peggy the pegbender.I went to change lanes at a stop light and the car in front of me did exactly the same thing only a second later must have been right in her blind spot when she pulled out luckily she only caught the tip of the left peg with her rear tire nocked the shift control out of wack and put a nice 10 degree forward sweep in my peg didn't even touch me or the rest of the Bike. Good thing the mounts have some rubber in them was able to realign the controls and took most of the bend out of the peg so I'm good to go :wink_2: Nothing like a Mercedes E320 scrubin your peg to give you a whole new outlook:sweatdrop

Glad to hear you are safe . I almost got swiped by a cagemonkey yesterday . Old asian ladie would put on her turn signal then not turn . Turn it off and swerve into the lane without looking then swerve back . I gave that one a wide berth .

Best thing about it was the Bikes allright besides me not getting a scratch:sweatdrop just a slightly bent stock peg wich isn't worth bothering her insurance for. Seems for some reason the mounting bolts weren't snugged up like they should have been so the rubber in the mounting plate and the peg absorbed the hit, Glad I was able to correct it there on the spot except the peg, that required my brothers bench vise. I kept my cool and didn't explode on her but was really upset with the Bike only 1 1/2 months Old

Glad to hear you made through the "incident" okay...must have been something in the air yesterday. I had a guy jog across the street in front of me, hop in his F250 Mega-Truck, then started to pull out in front of me when I was about even with his door....asshole. He KNEW I was there, he crossed the friggin street in front of me and looked right at me.
He got the horn & the finger but he did stop.
There are idiot drivers everywhere :veryangry

I hear you - at least you can chalk these incidents up to "things I walked away from..."
Worst thing we ever had happen was a buddy of ours was drinking at a rally. He got the "I'm a big man syndrome" and decided to do a burnout in the parking lot. Rear tire hooked up and his Valkyrie ran into the back of ours. It was parked in front of him. Hit right in the right saddlebag. Yeah. We have a hitch on our Valkyrie and luckily it took most of the force of the hit. Still, did about $6,000 worth of cosmetic damage. Didn't bend the frame and we still have her today.
Wish I got a ride in today... :moon:

Full size pick ups are bad. They are high up and have a huge blind spot. If the driver doesnt take the effort to turn and look, he will not see a bike. Hell he cant even see a small car.
I know a couple of times where I was thinking about changing lanes, but I heard the bike exhaust before I saw the bike. (Another example of how loud pipes do make a difference).
No matter how often you tell yourself to turn and look, there will be a time that the driver wont- that is when you got to have your escape plan ready.
