Billy Lane Sentenced To Six Years In Prison
<!--startindex-->A famous former motorcycle builder from Brevard County headed to prison Friday. Billy Lane was sentenced to six years in prison and three years probation after causing a crash that killed a fellow biker.
"It's been really, really tough, but it's something I have to live with everyday," Lane said inside the courtroom.
Lane was moved to the Brevard County jail after the sentencing Friday morning to be processed. Then he will be sent to the Department of Corrections Reception Center to assign him to a prison and give him a new job behind bars

Should have gotten more. The judge was considering 9, but gave him 6 because of his remorse.
On a separate note about court...I had my traffic ticket dismissed by the City of Chandler yesterday! Feels good. Some A-Hole cop pulled me over on my birthday in June. I was behind another vehicle for a mile with them driving 25-30 the whole time in a 45, the road finally opened up with tons of room to pass on the right, I did, undercover unmarked red Dodge Charger officer behind me :( He didn't say one thing to me, not one thing, just license/registration, gave me my ticket and sent me on my way. After researching the law in AZ about that, there are exceptions to passing someone on the right, stated "n a street or highway with unobstructed pavement that is not occupied by parked vehicles and that is of sufficient width for two or more lines of moving vehicles in each direction." Bingo!
Went to court to fight it, I had pictures and maps to plead my case and prove I was in the exception of the law. The cop was there talking to the judge before hand and left before we started. She said that the officer wanted to change my charge to something else, she said that would not be acceptable and my charge was dismissed, I didn't have to do anything! I was so ready to drill that cop with the questions I had written down! Just glad I didn't have to pay the $180 fine!

Just glad I didn't have to pay the $180 fine! Even better that it is not on your record, for various reasons.
As to Lane, I would be crying in my beer right now, if I had one, and if I cared. He is getting minimally what he deserved.

I think they should treat everybody the same. "Like they stock shelves at walmart". If a crime calls for x amount of time or fines.......so be it, famous or not.

Ya know guys, both of them were found to have alcohol in their blood stream, neither should have been onn the roads AT ALL...it is unfortunate that the dude died, and Billy Lane should get the same as everyone else, but when you actually lok at the charges and all, he got pretty much what the law said he should get. IMO ONLY:
Billy Lane is a good guy, builds cool designs, and cryed real tears over killing this guy, NOT over getting caught. Its something he will have to get over , and when he gets out of the clink, he will have to decide on the outcome of his life.
I dont judge him for what he did, not my place, I just hope that he takes some of that money of his and does something worthwhile with it to battle drunk driving.
Bye!
