My 750 ACE is having fuel pump trouble...new installed is $185, but this would be the second one in 2 years time...I dont have any idea where to begin with this, tried the search button, put it here because thought there might be a bypass mod or something I am missing? Thanks in advance.:jamming:

Someone on here used an autozone fuel pump with a little plumbing changes.

Do you have the habit of forgetting to turn on your fuel valve a lot? This will prematurely burn up a pump. Just for shits and giggles fire the bike up and turn off the pet cock....you will hear the pump start to labor and get louder and louder until there is no more fuel for the bike to run on. When you do that over and over the pump will get hot and eventually fail.

Naw, to tell you the truth, I ride it so damn much that I just set it on the reserve setting and go by the odometer as a fuel guage. I know that at 125, I better be looking for a gas station, cause at 130, I am outta gas. Ther was some corrosion on the contacts for the fuel pump, but I would have thought that this would just cause them to not work, not burn up completely.

I am not used to having this type pump on my bikes, as I generally ride the old scool 750/4s, so please dont laff at this next question...but why cant I just by pass and take the fuel pump off the bike and run the gas straight to the carbs?

You might be able to go to a gravity feed.
