Hey guys. I have a set of Burbs Groundhoggs and im going to rejet so I can run those babies. I was wondering if you would notice that much difference between the bean box mod and a 360 open intake. All I need is a filter with the bean box mod so it would be alot cheaper. If there is a big differenc in performance I will get the high flow kit. Just wondering what your input would be.

I have done the Beans Box Mod and it is easy to run lean . Meaning that you will get as much air as you can use doing it .It is a little more weather proof than an exposed filter in the rain . And it is less subject to stronge wind .

Im thinking im gonna go for the bean box mod. Its much cheaper and you probably wont notice that much of a difference in performance between an exposed filter.

Hey sinister where did you get your stage 3 jet kit? Ive been trying to search and Ive come up with nothing. I heard it was advised to use a stage 3 when running Burbs.

The best I remember is that stage 3 is just a clip setting.I might be wrong,it's
been a few days since I did mine.

The factory pro stage three kit comes with a warning about " for closed track only ,race vehicles , bla bla bla " I am paraphrasing of course . A bit of a jump but not closed course jump . I think the jets are a little bigger and the needles are a different shape or size .

Thunder Air Products will sell you the Stage 3 kit. They use the #1183 Dynojet kit and replace the main jets with 134's and 138's. The same needles used in the 1183(for the ACE) are used in the Stage 3.

Is there a performance difference in the bean box and other intakes? Tiny and I are trying to figure out what to do. How about ridability? How much difference will the pipes make? We have V & H now. Thinking about Burbs and bean box mod, or keeping the V&H's and changing to hyperchargers.

I run the bean box mod with 134 and 138 jets and cobra 2" open drags. The bike runs great in this configuration so imagine it would be just at good doing the burbs. Besides, the burbs just look good.

Any problems in the rain? Would the hypercharger give more power and be as reliable?

Beanbox shouldn't give you any problems in the rain seeing the hole is on the back side of the airbox.
I can tell you from experience that the bootleg doesn't like the rain. Not sure how good a hypercharger would be in the rain. I've got the rain cover Widow was making for my bootleg. I just have to quit being lazy and rejet to allow for the restriction in airflow. It runs a bit rich with the rain cover on.

Pegs,
If there is any difference in power between a bootleg, Hypercharger, or bean box mod, it would be so slight that you'd only detect it on a dyno. I say this because all the different air intake products still require the same stage 3 jetting set-up: #134's in front and #138's in back. This tells me that they all flow about the same amount of air. It basically just boils down to what "look" you like the best.

So how about bean box and burbs, or V&H cruisers and hypercharger? We now have the cruisers. Just need to ride in the rain sometimes and it has to be dependable.

I think the thunder kits look better . The Beans box mod is the best for the money and performance [ rain ] . I run the box mod and Burbs . I ride year round even in the rain .

With the bean box mod I have ridden in heavy rain for four hours and not had any problems. I did however decide to buy a rain suit after that.

Tiny rode in the rain for just a couple of hours in a rain suit and his vagina filled up with water!
Thanks for the inputs! Any and all are appreciated!
