Is it possible to use the entire front end from a Honda sportbike on a shadow?? I am very interested in streetfighter styled bikes, and i have seen some examples of streetfighter cruisers.
Many suzuki sv650 owners are using GSXR front ends on their bikes, so it got me thinkin about this. Some of you are already using the rims and brakes.....so forks too????
Thanx for any help

I seem to remember this subject coming up a while back. Anything can be made to work. It depends on how much you want to invest. There's a LOT of variables in the geometry of the front end. I'm POSITIVE it wouldn't be a simple bolt on. The wheels alone aren't a slap them on project either.

What would that do to the handling of the bike? I see a lot of people wanting to put CBR stuff on shadows and I guess I don't get it?:undecided

LOL, sounds like you "may" know a little something on the subject. Is there a hint somewhere within your post......all I can see is use the search button. :wink_2:

Actually there was no hidden message (unless you read the post backwards). Anyhow the CBR WHEEL swap is pretty straightforward, with the exception of converting to a rear disc brake.
But, Glenn, I think he was talking about the entire front suspension. That would change the frame geometry considerably. The forks are quite a bit shorter I think. And I have no idea on how you would get them mounted to the bike.

The CBR wheels are almost a bolt on onto the ss750. Considering the cost of a custom wheel (about $900 for the rear) The CBR swap has cost me so far about $700 for the pair. That's including the rims, polishing, (www.mikespolishing.com (http://www.mikespolishing.com)), powder coating, the rear brake setup from a CBR900 and the front tire. And it will fit up to a 210 on the back. Although I'll only go with a 190 for her bike.

ahh, you are correct. I guess I should learn to read first, type second. I'm not sure how the bike would handle, Sport bikes usually have the wheel in tight to the bike. I'm sure the handling of the bike would be effected in a negative way. But, hey if he's looking to attempt it. Go for it and keep lots of notes and pics.

That's what my question was about. Handling. But the steering head has the geometry, not the triple trees. Or is it different on the CBR? Negative angle on the trees? Most of the mods have been for longer forks and more angle. That does affect handling but it's for the sake of looks.Pegs
