Anyone plan on going? It's coming up in the begining of June. I'm going down tomorrow to scope it out and book a hotel. I'll be at bike week June 6-8.
Anyone know anything about the Ohio helmet law for out of state riders? All I could find was for Ohio residents.

Are they still having it. I heard the big Harley dealer in Sandusky that hosts the event went bankrupt. They owe Harley around $2 million.
If its still on, I might go up next weekend. This weekend I have family stuff in Coldwater MI. Looks like I at least get to ride up, instead of setting in the van in the wife and kids.
As for the helmet law, I'm not sure about out of staters. I've seen lots of out of state riders around the Chillicothe Easyrider Rodeo and they don't have helmets on. Ohio doesn't require a rider to wear a helmet.

Ya, I found out that they may still use the lot that the Harley Dealer was on, but they do not know if the building will be open. Who cares I never went in there anyway.

I plan on going the second weekend with a few people from Columbus, I think we're camping.
Pirate, Ohio helmet laws are this:
temps only, must wear helmet(no passengers and and no night riding as well)
Licensed for your first year, unlimited riding but must wear helmet.
After you have your license for a year, you do not have to wear a helmet.
I would imagine it would be the same for out of staters, I don't think they could enforce different laws on non-residents.

I just saw in the news that they were struggling to get the funding to have some of the event activities because of the Harley Dealer closing. But some other local businesses stepped up and took care of it.

That is what I've heard as well.
Quoted from another forum that is here in Ohio-
Other sponsors have already stepped up and it's still gonna happen. They didnt fall on hard times. They are being sued cause they borrowed a ton of money and never made a payment! When HD cut them off they cut a deal with another dealership for bikes and acc. The local bank went to foreclose put found out that they never owned the lot they put the new store on nor do they own any merch thats in the store. They leased the lot with a second party and all merch belongs to south east HD. They just reopened the old dealership but painted over all the HD signs.
I guess the Sandusky newspaper is keeping up with changes and any updates-

I plan on leaving Thursday the 11th, early afternoon, but the guys I'm going with are really hard to get moving, so I figure it will be later.
Coming back Sunday the 14th whenever we wake up.

If I get to go, it will have to be next weekend. I have to work this week, since I'm taking next week off for the Dragon trip.
