Help my noob ass out with paint

The previous owner of my bike fucked up the rear fender pretty good, and now that I notice all the dings and scratches I really want to fix it. I found a stock replacement fender thats brand new.

I don't have much of an opportunity to paint it via hvlp. The link below is to some factory color paint from that year. If I were to order the primer, paint, and clear coat in rattle can form, how do you think it will turn out? What kind of prep work can I do to make it look as close to factory as possible?

Any advice is great. I do'nt have much experience with painting.

I think you can make it look good with the aerosol cans. The thing to worry about is wether or not it has the same catalysts in it as paint you would spray through a gun. I would pm apache and see if he had an opinion, cuz that's alot of money to spend only to find out it will fade in a year. just my .02 and I know I might have just stirred up a hornets nest:grin:
