Seams like this section is rather quiet so I'll just throw this in here.

Picked my bike up on thursday night.
Attempted to get it running friday.
Saturday afternoon she was all well so it's time to alter things.

No big changes so far but I did get rid of the horns (I'll mount one by the fuel filter) and cleaned some of the wiring around the motor. It's looking much cleaner but I think I need to make some covers to hide the carbs.

Absolutely hate the handle bars. It's like riding an old huffy bike so I need to find something more sensible. Have to check out the bars on other models, maybe there's a set I like.

Anyway, that's all I have so far although I did take a long look at a can of flat black. I'm sure there is something that needs paint.
Just a few pictures of the bike. Mind you, she's still dirty from sitting in someones garage for 2 years.

Plans for this one are simple.
Use and abuse as a daily form of transport (hit the 7K mile mark today).
Collect parts and once I have them all, low and dark. No chrome at all.
I have always had a thing for rat rods and gassers plus satin=much less polishing.

I hear ya on that one....

There are only 3 more things to do to my bike.... Im powder coating the front and rear rims flat black, powder coating the engine flat black, and adding a better headlight....

Im really intrested to see what you think of mine once I get all the pics up... Seeing as we were in the same situation... Older bikes, needing massaging / updating....

I think I might try and pick up a Honda CB750 and do a rat bike.... One like this...

I'm still trying to get used to the "lean back" riding style so those bars might be too much for me.
A friend had a CB that he turned into a cafe racer. Thing was a blast in traffic.
