Hey guys, just felt like posting this. (one of) the greatest highs in the world (this comes from a past heavy drug user) is riding the bike home after a nice intense draining workout on a hot sunny day. Feels so good. And i know a concern is you drain yourself so much maybe a muscle spasm or something causes you to drop the bike... not really an issue though. Anyone ride to the gym?

Also since im doing it more now i usually make a cheap post workout drink rather then either race home to make a shake or pay $5 for one at the gym i just take apple juice mix it with a scoop of protein powder in a little jar and guzzle it before i leave.

The reason i wrote old-newb is ive been working out for years on and off. Got my little 5'6 frame up to a 225lb rep bench now im back at 115!! It sooo depressing but after a few years of popping percs like Pez and smoking way too much ive quit everything for the past 3 months and im starting over. I cant tell you how many times ive started over from the bottom after building up muscle. I'm only 26 but the gains are coming really slow compared when i was 21.. i been stuck at a pathetic 135lb bench for a month now. I decided to lower the weight even further and go for more reps, faster.

i digress. the point of this post was to just tell you what a great feeling it is riding home after the gym and see if else does the same and likes it.

Dude, that "Meet my BFF Brad" vid is hilarious! Oh, i've started working out again in my garage (that's my gym). I usually work out in the winter months and take the summer months off cause 1) it's too damn hot in my garage, 2) my summers are full with kid activities and softball for me. I'll have to go for a ride one night after I work out to see what you're talking about. Not sure it'll feel any different because anytime I ride the bike it's an awesome feeling.
How much do you weigh if you're 5'6"? I'm 6' and about 215lbs. I had my bench up to 290lbs this February. (I know, it's nothing to brag about) My goal is to finally break that 300lb mark on the bench. That'll be a good day!

I ride to work, use the gym when my shift is over, then pack up and ride home around 2am. Such a nice feeling after a good workout then cruising home when its warm out at night. Do you go to Golds in west springfield?

Fuck, I ride my bike to the gym and back. Not losing any weight though. WTF!!!! Oh......guess I have to take my fat ass IN the gym and do something!!
Actually, I am getting on the exercise bike more than I use to. Playing hockey year round as well. Feels great!!! Kind of hard to take the scoot to the rink though. No way to carry the equipment.

My name is Jim, I can lift a beer in each hand, at the same time no doubt, and if I stand upside down, it looks like I got a realy big chest.:bucktooth

I quite going to the gym 11 years ago. As far as preventing cramps after a workout, just rehydrate by drinking about a liter of water and stretch and you should be fine unless you are riding about 100 miles to get home.

i ride my scoot to the gym every chance i get, but lately its been freakin rainin here every damn day

dont get discuraged man, just do lots of pyramid sets, eat lots of protein, and that shit will come back:cool4:, oh, and take protein right after your work out with dextrose

think of it this way, with a 135 bench press, you only "have to go up" right?

Same here, ride to the gym everyday that it's not raining. The only tough days are when I do a heavy leg workout or a lot of sparring (boxing). Then the old getaway-sticks feel a bit noodle-like at intersections.

Don't worry about starting back out and feeling weak, your muscles will eventually "remember" how to build themselves. Just take it easy and don't hurt yourself by trying to gain too fast (been there).

A couple of years ago I had a '69 Chevy pickup with a three speed on the column. Let the gym one day about five minutes after finishing a burn out set on the leg press machine. Going down the long steep hill towards the red light running about 45 mph I realized that I couldn't hold both the clutch and the brake. Had to throw it in nuetral and use both feet on the brake to stop. That ride home had more than one interesting moment. Ah, good times.

Damn Knucklehead... that sucks. I was worried about that at first after a leg day.. riding home and dropping the bike at a light or while slowing down but a tough leg day doesnt affect me, honestly its a little tougher after doing chest for some reason to ride home.

I dont put as much emphasis on my legs... on leg day i take it light just running for 10 minutes (then walking for 10 more) then just doing about 5-7 sets on the leg press. BUT with just that my legs are actually going up way faster then my other body parts!! I dont get it. Maybe sometimes less is more. And on the leg press, it really shocks your body and its not a slow movement up its a quick fast explosion which i think helps. Ive taken that info and started modeling other workouts like that... lowering the weight and doing quick fast explosive movements up and slow controlled lowering of the weight.

Oh and i always take a little apple juice mix it in with a scoop of protein powder and take it in a jar with me. I dont pay $5 for the shakes there i make my own at home, so i down the jar after working out so i dont have to rush home i can take a little extra time.

BTW a post workout/anytime shake; 1-2 scoops of protein powder,2-3 cups apple juice (regular or low cal), half cup of ice, a frozen banana, frozen blue berries, frozen apple, refrigged carrot, and 1/3 pack of sugar free jello, its damn good.

Alright dont want to get all sissy with the recipes.
