I bought this jacket for a couple reasons. First off, breathability. Over half of this jacket is mesh and breathes extremely well. I live in Phoenix and we've already had a couple days over 100 degrees and I was very comfortable once I started moving. Second was looks. I'm not a "biker". I don't want some neon green racing jacket. I got the black one and it looks nice. Lastly was protection. Pads in the hard hit areas plus spine protection and thicker material on the elbows, forearms and shoulders.

I hit the pavement at 60mph and slid for quite a while on the freeway. The jacket is toast, but I am not. I had 6 EMT's asking a bunch of questions about the cost, etc. on the jacket and telling me that they haven't seen anybody hit pavement at that speed and be in as good of shape. As far as the part of my body that is covered by the jacket I've got a couple spots of road rash on each elbow and a bunch on my lower back where the jacket came up a bit when I was sliding down the road, but that's it. The strongest thing that I can say is that once the bike is fixed I am buying the same jacket again.
