PLEASE ALLOW ME TO RANT...
SITUATION---my dad has been in a rehab for drugs and alcohol for almost
6-months now,and he has openly told them that he feels like he needs to stay
longer...well....
OH LET ME TELL YOU HE WAS IN LAS VEGAS "NEWMEXICO" AND I,M IN ALBUQUERQUE
NM....ABOUT I WOULD SAY A GOOD 2-3 HRS APART.
and they have said that they think he needs more rehab on substance abuse.
due to the fact how many years he was on them...and they were going to transport
him to another rehab facilty in newmexico..WELL i got a call from dad a few minutes
ago and he is here in albuquerque..they aparently kicked him out of las vegas
and dropped him off here in albuquerque --now get this-- at a homeless shelter.
now why in the fuck would they drop sombody off that is struglling with a drug and
alcohole addiction thats wants the help off at a homeless shelter,where all the
drugs and alcohole is.thanks for ALLOWING ME TO RANT...

NO right now i have to be stuck at work...also i am on the bike.
another thing he called me and the phone he called me from does not have a number
that he knew of,and i did'nt even think to ask him were he was....but he did say he
will call me back before i get off of work...

THIS NEWS REALLY SUCKS.

It never fails. When you least can afford it, the shit hits the fan.

First I would call those IDIOTS in Vegas and find out why they dumped him in a homless shelter in ALB instead of a REHAB Center. And dont be nice about it. Hopefully you will not have any trouble getting him in a REHAB Center in ALB.

I have a similiar problem with my oldest daughter, she is in and out of psych wards, though in her case not from substance abuse. She is just nuts (some of the time) . What makes it bad in our case, is that she has a 6 year old daughter - our grand daughter, who has been living with us for the last 3 years. She never knew or met her Father. He skipped as soon as he learned my daughter was pregnant. The only Father figure she has ever had is that Goofy Old Clown called Tiny. When Mom is feeling ok, she stays at home as well. That poor little girl has gone through an emotional roller coaster, but I think we have made a difference for her.

Razor this kind of thing can really tear a family apart. Stay strong, keep your family close to your heart, and go kick some ass for Dad.

That sucks....but also keep in mind that most "shelters" may also double as in-patient rehab centers. There is one similar to that in Chester, NY that NYC uses.

The main focus of the facility may be a homeless shelter, but there may be a separate section for rehab. Depending on how the rehab is being paid for (private insurance or State funded) may have been the determining factor too.

Either way it's a fucked up situation and I wish you and your Dad the best of luck with it. I went through it for 15 years with my sister.

in all seriousness,acually i do not get along too well with my dad and
fell very uneasy around him but,i still care about him,,esp:now since
he really wants to help himself and start a new life for himself,,and he did
tell me that in those exact words...so i cant help to want to help him,and have
a heart for him...

thats just to bad when little babys are involved,at least i had the privlage
to grow up with both parents,allthough at was'nt that enjoyable at times

Seems like my disfunctional family has it MADE! Mother is OK. Father passed away but was a great guy. Wicked step mother is a good woman. All my 16 hers mine and ours brothers and sisters are for the most part really fucked up but I don't have to deal with them. My only problem is Tiny's wife keeps hitting on me!

Do what you can for your Dad, but always remember YOUR FAMILY comes first. IF he sincerely wishes to make a change, give him a tow line - but keep it short. Anything that even comes close to screwing with you and your family - cut the line.

AS for Pegscraper, the only thing my wife wants to do to him is grab his earlobe. Right or left, doesn't matter, and pull it until it touches the ground. The same she does to me whenever Peg and I get drunk together.

Turns Out He Found Someone To Stay With For The Week End And
Only Had To Sleep On The Street One Night-(said To Say)-but He Is Fine
And He Was Strong Enough To Stay Clean,,,,even Though The Guy He Was Staying With Was Drinking And Druging...
He Is Now At My House And Will Be Taking Him Back To My Aunties House

croach and airport thanks---and thanks to all ya...like i said before i dont
care much to be around him but at least now i know he is off the street....
sometimes my big heart could get the best of me...but thats a good thing most
of the time....
