I received my tail light 2 days ago and I'm not thrilled with it at all. For 20 bucks more i could've gotten the LED model elswhere, plus the bracket is black and the LED one has a chrome bracket. Also, there was no instructions or mounting hardware, just the cateye and the bracket. Anyone else experience this? i bought it from Chromewhore and I've emailed them 3x with no response. Any help with the instructions?

Check Billski's web site. Instructions are posted there, and you can print it out. Get rid of the light bulb that comes with it. Chances are 50-50 that it will burn out in a couple of days. If you like LED, replace it with a LED Bulb, or you can use your original tail light which works fine for it. Note that the bulb it comes with is much smaller than the original tail light but that is OK.

Personally I prefer the black bracket over a chrome.

Anyway in accordance with the manual of proper greetings ....

FUCK OFF NOOB

Billski is on The Spirit World site a lot.

Or his website is

I really like my billski mod. The bracket doesn't stick out like a chrome one would. You can replace the bulb for 5 bucks or so if you do a search for LED 1157 bulbs. Follow the instructions on his site. Make sure you remove the fender. A friend on mine said we didn't have to remove it and I listened to him. Trust me. Remove the fender. Also check the wiring before you make it permanent.
Good luck.

Oh, and fug cough new bee!!!

BULLCRAP N FRAZZLE - WE did not remove our fenders because:

1) We were too stupid to do so.
2) We were too drunk to do so.
3) We had two dummies to finish it off for us.

Is that what happened? I can't remember!

Good Point - check it out after wiring. The instructions offer two wiring versions. We tried the first and it immediately popped the 15 amp fuse. Turned out that the second option was correct for our Shadows.

So make sure you have an extra 15 amp fuse ready, in case.

Here's a direct link to the instruction page. http://www.billski182.com/Tail%20Light%20Installation.htm
Installation is a snap.
Not sure where you could get a chromed bracket LED light set for $20.00.
Billski is a stand up guy and makes a good product. There's quite a few of us that have had them on our bike and a lot are still using them. I had one and loved it, but went to a side mount.
I know for a fact that his is made to fit without any alterations required. I'd wonder what you'd have to do in order to get the other one to fit. There's always something else out there, so it's best to do your research first and then buy.
I know mentioned you bought from chromewhore, but you could always have contacted Billski direct. He has a profile on this site and can be emailed from his webpage. I've had nothing but good experiences dealing with Billski.

Cant get the chrome one for ONLY 20 bucks, I said 20 bucks more! Besides, I installed it last night and it looks great, just wish it came with long enough wiring so you dont have to splice, it came about 18 inches too short. Now I just gotta figure out where to put turn signals, I want to grind off the orig brackets but i cant use the fender struts since i'm thinking of adding ghost brackets and bags. Anyone know where to get some brackets that might work? I am a skillless hump and would probably lose a finger or two if i tried to make my own.

Thanks guys.

P.S. just found out that the dude that runs chromewhore is on vaca, thats why i got no response........all apologies CH, hope your vaca went well.
