Which ones? The Kury, and most others, ones attach with two-sided tape.

I have a set on my 01 ACE and got them from Honda, if they are the sames ones; they stick on with double sided tape that is precut and installed on the tips already.

But here's the kicker...they are tuff to get on straight and the front one on mine started to come off at the front corners because they are facing into the wind and eventually needed to be screwed down, because dirt gets behind them.

I like the look of the fenders with them on so much that the holes were of no consequence because I never planned to take them off. I first used some stainlness screws and then I changed them to screw on spikes that you get from leather suppliers and used the spike on the outside as a nut. (just my taste) But nice clean screws look better IMO.

They may have changed them or they may be made by someone else by now so this may not apply to these, but if they do require screws I think it is worth the holes.

rychehawk......hey man thanks for the in depth reply! It sure helps me out.I had a set on a "cushman eagle" 50 years ago, i always liked them and "STILL" have them. in fact these new ones are peaked like my Cushman........ tips.
Now...when you finally drilled the holes did you "countersink" the holes, ...what i'm getting at is what does it look like these tips are made out of???any idea???

Beak.......how ya doin..i only know the "peaked" ones are what i think i'm ordering, if not the dealer can keep them.

Bob,

No I did not couter sink them ( not enough material thickness), you want a nice screw with a flat "pan head" type head or use nice washers to give a better surface holding area so the heads don't "dimple" around the screw holes.

Mine are made out of some sort of sheet steel and are chrome plated, they have 3 staggered ridges that run around the curved surface parallel to the ground. I have have mine on for 8 years now and they are starting to rust (pit). But now I may have them powder coated black to match my black paint.

The best way (rust free) and proably cheaper way to go is to make some templates out of cardboard shaped how you like and get some thin stainless steel or aluminum pieces cut from a metal shop.
