Ok, so here is my problem. my garage is only 5' deep and 10' wide. there is room for my ride but getting it in there is a chore. first i have to pull it in at an angle. it only goes in far enough to get the rear tire over the lip, barely. i then have to grab the sissy bar and lift up while i am pushing the rear end over with my knee. after i have in in a ways, i have to turn the bars to the right and back it up. then lift and scoot it over some more. i then have to do it all over one last time until it is finally in the garage.
the thing is, i want to set it up solo. that leaves me with the dilema of how the hell am i going to get it into the garage. i thought about a floor lift but there is a 1.5 inch lip between the driveway and garage and a lift wont roll up and over it. any suggestions?
there is a picture in my gallery of the bike in the garage, it may help you visualize what im talking about. sorry this is so long

you call that a garage? go buy a go-jack. use it on the rear tire. problem solved.

i have to call that a garage, its all i got. we convertesd the rest into a bedroom for my kid when he was 5. unfortunately, he is 21 now and still living there. i should have made him sleep in the living room. ide still have a garage then.

im not sure the go jack will work. what holds the bike steady so it dont fall over when you lift the rear tire? also, the lip prevents it from rolling into teh garage, although i coould make a ramp or something. but i am not sure i like the idea of balancing the bike on the front tire and side stand. seems like the stand would wear out or tweak out of shape

haha. i was wondering what was up with that... the go-jack should help you out just fine, you only have to lift the tire a hair off the ground and the kickstand will support the weight of the bike.

Kick the kid out. He's 21 now. Then knock down the wall and reclaim your garage.

Gotta Harbor freight handy?

I don't know if it would fit though.

You could ride up on it, then pivit the whole thing sideways w/ one hand if your floor is in good shape.

My nickels worth,

I have a cycle dolly and it is great! My "garage" is an 8'x10' shed that I cut a wider door into and reinforced the floor. I drive into the shed, onto the dolly, and roll the bike around so I can drive back out.

I've seen guys pivot their bikes on the kickstand but to me that seems like an accident waiting to happen, involving either a dropped bike or a bike dropped on me.

Here's a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrcGn3Ps0sQ) though.

Maybe if you didn't park your bike in the "garage" your kid would have the space to get out of his room and leave.

i wish it was that easy. at least he pays rent. i may just have to build a shed or extend the garage out but thats another project for another day.

i would build another one bigger, or you could just trade with him. give him the 5 x 10 and you take the bigger half.
