Hi, was trying to find info on the cbr rim swap. havent found sufficient info and since support135 is down no one seems to know.

Decided to look into vtx swap. is the vtx rim limited to a 200 tire? or can it go wider? What about rigids instead of stock shocks. should be able to run 9 1/8 rigids with the vtx 200 and 210 if the rim holds it?

Thanks for the help folks!

i think with 9 1/8 you can get away with a 200 but not sure if you can go up to a 210. i know alot of guys who go rigid go 9.5 with the 200. but im trying to figure all this out as well

the 200 is the widest tire they make for the vtx rim a 210 would fit but nobody makes one. The cbr is a bigger wheel 17 in.I think so you can get a 210.

Here's some pics that I got from a guy in TSW (Widow). Sorry, no instructions, but maybe the images will help. I got this years ago when I thought about doing it. Instead, I just bought a CBR 600.... lol

This mainly shows how he made the disk brake work, master cylinder, resevoir, etc. May be of some value. If not, fuck off..... ;-)

Edit: I know you asked about a VTX (which this is NOT), but the concept may still be of value. Again, if not, fuck off...

Hey I was wondering can you use a cbr f3 rear rim too

You can use any wheel you want. It depends on how much work you wanna do with it. Keep in mind that the SS750 axle diameter is 20mm and some CBR wheels are 25mm. It's not a big deal, but it will create extra work.

Also the drive unit has to be considered. And the width of the rim.

Depends on if you are going to keep your sub frame. 9 1/4 struts is as low as you can go with a 200 and still keep any type of sub frame. You'll still have to mod the hell out of it. If no sub is being used then you can do 9 1/8, I think I've read someone going 9" with out their sub.
