View Full Version : Hit by a car today .

First off I am fine . My right leg hurts a little and I got a little scratch on my rear turn signal . I was going to replace the signal anyway . I was riding in the lefthand lane doing about 40 . It had just started raining about 5 minutes before . The road was really slick . The jerk in front of me locks up his brakes and puts on his left turn signal . I can't stop in time and niegher can the guy behind me . The right lane was going to fast to for me to enter . I had to pass on the left . I was hit on my leg just above my ankle and the impact pushed my bike almost 3 feet to the left . Did I mention it was really slick . I did not go down luckily . The guy in the car drove away . I did not feel like chasing him down . I was unsure of weather my leg was broken . Bad time to pick a fight . I think that I get to get away with just a bruise for a new story and my life . Not a bad trade . Next time I go out I will remember to leave a little extra room .

Glad to hear you are OK. Man, that's some scary shit! Those cars get REALLY BIG when they get that close! Always a good reminder to leave extra room and always have an out if possible.
The guy that hit you drove off? What an asshole! Didn't even make sure you were OK. That REALLY pisses a guy off!

Very, very glad to hear that the injuries are minor and that both you and the bike (for the most part) are ok !! :happy2:

Still, don't take anything for granted - get that leg checked out to make sure nothing is seriously wrong.

If he had slowed down any before I would have an out . I think he got a love tap from the truck behind me . I could have been sandwitched between the 2 . The funny thing was on my way home I had a premanition that I was in danger . I had an eye out for trouble . Just before that guy slammed on his brakes a guy had ran out into the middle of the road and stopped . Here in Or. people have to stop for jaywalkers . Jaywalking has increased 10x since that stupid law was passed . I was worried that I would hit that idiot and then the guy hits his brakes just as we pass him .I might have had a second more to react if it was'nt for the jaywalker . Who knows .maby maby maby what if .Just happy to be alive . :happy:

It's strange how that "premanition of danger" pops up every so often. Fortunately 99% of the time nothing happens. But who knows, maybe nothing happens because are sensors are at high alert.

A lot has to be said in that you were able to maneuver a possibly serious, if not fatal accident, into a minor injury. Your riding skills saved your butt, for which we are all greatfull.

My wife and I get those premature.....no, hold it. Preminitions all the time about deer on the gravel road at night. Funny thing is, most of the time we are right! Maybe it's because there are usually deer on the road or maybe it's because I AM a physic.

My wife just got back from being away. We'll check into it to make sure that charges were filed. We gave the information as well as a 'statement' to her insurance company, they contacted us and said she admitted 100% responsibility. So we get the bike fixed with no deductable.
I'll be down about 1/2 way to your area the first week in November....We'll be in Seattle down by the Key Arena for a concert.

Casting arm good , Drinking arms great ! I could be up for a Seattle trip just to drink beer . Thriottle arm is still good . Thanks to every body for their well wishes . C@woman where have you and M@man been ? Thanks Fegs , I am ok on lights for now . I found some Highway Hawk ones that match my sparto . Now I just got to buy them . I got a custom sissy bar [ pole holders on the sides ]on the way so I am not sure how I want to mount new ones yet . The stockers will work for now .

This could date me.....Paul McCartney at the Key Arena. Stones are there on the 30th, but I couldn't swing both concerts. Would have been great though, both the stones and mcCartney in the same week at the Key arena.
