Perhaps this weekend, when I get done helping a neighbor with his Sportster...

Them fender rails are kinda high aren't they?
ScaryGlide

That's how they come from the factory, but they are coming off.
Didn't have time to get them off prior to the pic.
They are now off, along with a LOT of the other parts, floorboards, crashbar, lights, etc..
More to come.
As I have aftermarket controls, I have to make my own extensions.
I have a 40" inseam, so extensions will be mandatory.

I have that problem, in reverse.
She keeps pestering me to buy a new Harley, "You deserve it!", but it really doesn't fit in the budget right now.
I will be happy riding the old 1992 Electraglide, and this "new" 1999 ACE when it is finished.

Both good bikes, but being a civilized Wookie, I have to have the biggest thing going, otherwise I look a little odd, like a clown on a circus bike.

6'-6", 245 here. 40" inseam.
As the post states, I am working on some 9" extensions for the controls, just need to see if my boots will get caught up in the spokes.

Heat and bend the metal to angle em out a bit just might lose a lil clearance on the turns but we aren't riding crotch rockets

I am probably going to keep all the parts, as I am building this as a convertible that can be changed back to stock in a couple hours.
If it was to be a dedicated bobber I would have hacked the tail off and did a hardtail.
The bike is actually my wifes' bike, but she is in the throes of indecision about riding on her own, so I nabbed it as a project with an eye toward being able to change it back.
Should things change, I will let you know.

I was just wondering if you are using the stock tire and rim, and also, where did you get that rear fender? Nice looking rig.
ScaryGlide

Thanks, it would have been a fun little bike....
I WAS going to use the stock tires and rims, going for a low buck thing, but the bike was sold today in a bid to get the wife a trike.
The fender was from Tractor Supply, about 35 bucks.
If you are close, I'll make you a deal ! !
I had the struts, seat mount and 9" forward control extensions designed and drawn up to hardtail it and mount a sprung solo seat.
The plan was to keep it in a state I could change it back to stock, just in case.
I will use all this info when I get a Spirit. (Soon I hope.)
These Hondas are cool little bikes.
Ride safe, ya'll.

Thanks, I think.
I was doing it all as low buck as possible, on purpose, trying to do it old school with whatever came easily to hand, and did I mention cheap?
