ok so i went to sears today to poss.buy a jack for the bike. in my hand i also had a copy of the harbour frt. motorcycle jack that is very similar-after looking at the sears jack i asked the sales lady(college chick i think)if they would match an on-line price for the same price from a competitor;she checked with her boss (middle aged MILF )she said yes as long as they were the same -i took a CHANCE and showed her the picture from HF,she looked at the sears box and gave it to me for the HF price -needless to say i paid the cash and made a mad fuckin dash for the door-saving myself about $100.00.she REALLY does need glasses.you compare the picture:laugh4: :laugh4: :laugh4:

I can't stand Sears Craftsman policy....about 4 years ago I bought a roller stand from Sears, it was a craftsman and about the 3rd-4th time I used it the lock on it started to strip out. Well about a year into it it wouldn't lock down anymore so I went into Sears with this Craftsman Roller stand and asked for a replacement, they brought it up on the computer and said "It's a year old" I said So, they then started this song and dance about how certain craftsman items that were made overseas didn't fall under the "Made in the USA Craftsman lifetime warranty"I said bullshit, they called a manager, he said It Sears policy that any craftsman item made out of the USA doesn't have the lifetime warranty. So i asked how long the warranty on the roller stand was----1 year was the answer....I was so fucking pissed I left the roller stand on the counter and swore I'd never ever buy another over priced craftsman product from sears again.

Been there too. Their tools are overpriced and the so-called "lifetime guarantee" is their main selling feature. Up here we also have Canadian Tire (check it out when you're up fishing, Morph) and their brand is "Mastercraft". Same deal only they will replace it with no questions, no receipt, no problem. I did have a problem with a drill though but I don't think anyone will warranty those, especially a cordless, past a year.

Hey Morpheus, The pix of the jack you stole from Sears is no longer up, I am looking to by a Jack what one did you get and did you have to modify it at all to lift the bike? I found this link using the good ol search button. Thanks

Thanks Morpheus!!!

Do you have any idea if your Spitirt and My 98 ACE have the same frame size. I keep reading about how most jacks won't fit different Shadows. I'm a total NooB when it comes to workin on bikes, but after getting a Jack/lift I plan on doing all my own work. the only way to learn is to just do it!!

Thanks for the info!

None of them bike jacks will just roll under your bike, You've got to tip it like 50 fucking degrees to get the jack started, then stand your bike straight up and it'll go on under, always try to have someone help you when you have to get her on a motorcycle jack.....it's a pain in the ass doing it yourself., trying to scootch the jack with one foot and trying to balance the bike with one hand and wiggling the jack handle with the other hand......

it's not the tipping that concerns mes that much. it is that I keep reading that the rubber pads do not line up with the frame on certain bikes and I cant seem to find out if that includes my bike. I'm reading that you have to either buy another part or mod it in a way so that you do not lift the bike up by the engine. I just want to buy a good lift that I can use with out all the bull shit extra work.

Thanks, for any and all info!!

Last time I went to Sears I bought a 156 piece socket set, they charged me for a cordless drill. I immediatly packed that shit up and made a B line for the door. The retail on the socket set was like 150, the broad charged me like 65$ for the "drill"
