Those pipes look familiar. I wonder where I have seen something like that before?

I am running something very similar to those, but I have already done the rejet and air intake mod. Are those straight pipes or are they going to have baffles? I'm not so sure that rejetting without modding your intake is going to be such a good idea. Seems like dumping more fuel into it is not going to fix the problem without upping the air intake as well. Just my .02. Other than that, I am running 134 and 138 in my carbs.

I would recommend getting your mains from Dyno Jet, call their 800# and ask for 124-138 for your make model and year their 2.00 each, cost you 16.00 plus shipping, and then I'd go to Factory Pros web site for their 800# and order the 42 slows you'll need a pair.......their not necessary, you can stick with the factory 40's, but truth is your way better off doing the 42 slows for your idle circuit. Dyno doesn't have the slow jets and their I believe like 18 bucks for the pair.......or something like that.
The reason you want 124-138 is because 134-138 is the extreme and depending on you pipes and how much you open your airbox will dictate just which jets you'll need.

Man it's not really a hard thing, but it is intimidating if you've never done it before. I felt the same way when I looked at the way it was all put together and what was involved in getting it apart, and also the fact that I'd surely fucking forget how it all goes back together, not to mention the screws I was sure to strip trying to get the floats off of the carbs....yeah, I took about 2-3 hours getting it all off just to spend another couple of hours putting it back together, just to find out that it was way to rich and had to do it all over again, just a little quicker this time. about the 5th time I took it apart (still to rich), I was a fucking pro and it only took me 45 minutes from start to finish....ended up with 126 front 128 rear with needles on the second from top, about the third time I was taking it apart I was wishing I'd never heard of the Bean Box mod....but when I got it right , it was all worth it. Man you can do it. Just take your time, you'll get it right.

You know the "Pro's" are going to eat your lunch, for one thing their going to start things off by telling you how it'll never work, to many variables, voids the warranty, so on and so forth. But for say....$5 to $600.00, we'll give it a shot, and in the end the "Pro's" will make about $750 off of you for something you'll have the pleasure of knowing you did yourself. Not only that it'll probably take the "Pro's" a week or more to get around to it once you've dropped your bike off......

You want to check the plugs. Do a search for the plug chop test. You need to make sure you check them at 1/3, 2/3 and full throttle as well as idle.

I've got the V&H Straightshots with the V&H baffles that came with it set at the second screw hole from the rear. In the first screw hole I installed the V&H slash cut turned down (got em on e-gay for 24.00 shipped) and I have the bean box/4*timing mod....you won't have to do the 4*mod as it won't effect the jetting, just did it for a quicker fire at startup ......
