I found $180 once, split it with my friend. A week later my wify lost $300 and my friend lost his whole cashed pay check. Karma bit us in the butt.

I do believe that if i was the party that lost it, I would give the honest person a reward for returning it. Of course who puts 10,000 dollars in a box of crackers,then returns it to the store.I`m sure i would have remembered where i put that kind of money.
