I just put Avon Venoms on my bike (750 Spirit), but I cant locate anything on the tire indicating recommended tire pressure. Anyone have any idea?

I've got a "94 VT1100 and just installed the same on the rear last friday. I'm running solo and use 38 PSI.

Thanks, some one suggested 46 psi but was a little nervous on that one. I am sure it could handle it, but I felt it was a bit too high. I think your 38 is a good range.

Well, avearage air pressure suggested by most manufactures for rear tires, are between 36 and 42 pounds. Thats based on the carried load of the vehicle. If you are a light weight and ride solo, then the 36 to 38 psi range is good. I weight right about 200. So I went for the 38. If your packing another rider 38 to 40 is good. Then with gaer added you can go up to 40 or 42. But whoever wrote 46 may have been meaning to type 36 and it was a misprint. Who knows.
You're very welcome,

My old Venom X was load rated at 1074 lbs at 50 psi. I ran it at 45 psi for most of the time it was on my 1100 but due to age and then a nail punture it was removed. I didn't like it in the rain (kind of slippery). Two up wy wife and I weighed about 390 lbs. with my fat ass accounting for most of that lol. they are prety good tires though and are higher load rated than most other brands. good luck with the venom and safe riding.

That is the same situation I am in. Not only do I have a fat ass, but the rest of the body matches my delicate posterior!!!! Ss generally go for the higher psi.
