Greetings Freaks,...
My wife,... Who I love dearly,... wore her high heeled semi-platforms tonight,... And left a significant trail of rubber on the top of my V & H straightshots,... I've heard of Gorilla snot to help remove stuff like this,... But I also own a Dremel with a soft felt type attachment,... Any of you brothers and sisters have any special tricks to remove this rubber from my beautiful pipes??,...
My wife,... God bless her,... Promised to only wear flat soled shoes from now on,... If I had noticed them I would have told her to change them,... But I didn't notice how high they were,...
Thanks ya'll,... Besides the rubber incident,... We had a bitchin ride around Las Vegas and the Strip,... Weather here is still a little hot,... But the nights are T-Shirt worthy,...
Hope to here from some of you on this thread,... Much Love,... Be Safe,...
Peace,... -Yellowman :jamming:

Mine has done the same to me. I just let it heat up again and wipe it off with a rag while it's hot. I guess it depends on the type of rubber how easy it will come off.

I've heard of people using oven cleaner to get off some of the tough stuff (the racks in the oven are chromed too).
I have a spray called "Saf T Lok" (their cleaner) to clean stuff like that off the pipes. It's a solvent based cleaner used to clean gasket faces. Evaporates with no residue, can also be used on brake rotors.

It seem anyone who's ever had a female passenger has had to deal with this. If your pipes are already less than show quality you can take it off with 00 steel wool easily, oven cleaner will work. Talking about pipes any know if Stainless pipes are availabe for SS750?

Not sure if Burb can do stainless, but I'd check with him. If he can, I'm sure he'd do a set.

What about some Honda cleaner and my Dremel Felt Disk as a way to get the stuff off my pipes?,... Any thoughts on that?,... OR the Easy OFF and my felt disk,... I hear the felt disk is gentle enough to not scratch the pipes,... Scratches on my pipes would make me weep like a little girl,... WAH!!!!!!!
Come on Freaks,... I know their are some serious tricks out there for this,... I'll try what I've heard so far,... But I need the Double Secret Probation method to get this shit off my pipes,... Later,... -Yellowman

I say no to the dremel. I ruined a silver plated piece my wife wanted me to "clean up" those felt things went right through the plating. The nickel chome plating is not much thicker, even if the are called triple dipped show chrome. Anything requiring more than firm hand pressure I'd stay away from. Then again you could always drop the bike, then the goo could stay, kinda like when I throw a cinder block into the bed of my new trucks, to get the whole I don't want to dent it thing over with. :biggrinje

i'm sorry (well maybe not) but sombody had to say it.
no pic of wife with high heels on bike = no wifes high heels goo on my v&h.
j/k i got some boot rubber on my cobras and all i did was let it heat up a little
and then got a ''RAZOR'' blade and with very little pressure peeled it right off.
allthough it didnt get all of it off.i got some brake cleaner and a soft cloth
and sprayed the cleaner on the rag ""not the pipes"" and the rest came right off.

Sounds like the best idea so far,... I'll get a picture of my wife on the bike soon,... She's pretty friggin' cute,... Later freaks,... -YellowMan

I just had the same happen to me AGAIN! I used Turtle wax Chrome polish and it comes right off with a little elbow grease. The polish is a little sandy but not abrasive. It took the stuff off and left them shining!

The way my luck with women has been lately, I would just be happy to have this problem.

Try some EZ Off Oven Cleaner. Just be DAMNED SURE you don't get any on any painted surfaces. Leave it on for a few minutes, and the rubber will wipe right off.

Hey Y'all,...
Used the razor blade, very lightly and got the thickest of the rubber off,... Then got some of that Turtle Wax Chrome and Rust Remover,... Worked GREAT,... Pipes are gleamin',...
I promise I'll post a picture of my wife with the (NO-NO) high heeled shoes,... I'll start a new thread with it,... I still don't own a digi-camera so I'll have to wait to finish the roll in the old school camera,...
Later Freaks,... And thanks to everybody for the excellent help on this thread,... You all totally fucking ROCK!! :jamming: :Boobs: :jamming:

This may be a little dated but having not riden since high school some 15 years ago, I discovered a nice hole and melted area on my fav. slacks after I got to work the other day. I now use trouser blousers but anyway, the tube of stuff from Honda works great to polish up anything chrome but did diddly squat to the nice melted slack spot my poor pants left on the pipe. I found that a new straight rasor with warm pipes worked the best and then the Honda cream for final polishing. I would rather succumb to the pant straps rather than show off my pearly white calves all the way to work.
