Hey Freaks,...
Sorry I've been away so long,... Got out of the band that I was on the road with,... and joined a full time band here in Las Vegas,... AND,... I just got married and returned from my honeymoon,... Life is good,... My bikes another story,...
So let's see if I can make a long story short,...
My local Honda stealer installed my Hurricane intake,... They put the jets in,... Did their thing,... returned it to me and it ran like SHIT!!!! Racers Edge (another repair house) put my bike on a dyno and got it running much better,... But still funky (occaisional chugging and popping),... Jump ahead a few months,... One of my cylinders stopped firing,... Since cash was short,... I took it back to the stealer JUST to have my plugs replaced and quick oil change,...
Honda called me and said my bike was running very rich,... They also said my plugs were fouled & blackened with carbon,... Apparently a sure sign it's not getting enough air and too much fuel,...
I picked up my bike,... And while I was at the counter rapping with them,... One of them said,... "Did we tweak any air/fuel mixture screws?" The other guy tried covering his buddies comment by saying, "No, no , he's going to do that later" Sounded like they could have done the air/fuel adjust in no time but wanted to charge me up the ass to make their STEALER bucks, Know what I mean? Anyhoo!!!!
Sounds to me like a turn of screw could tremendously help my air/fuel ratio,...
Please!!!! Can someone help me out with how to find and tweak this air/fuel screw? I'm not afraid to do this myself,... As long as I make careful notes as to where every knob and screw was BEFORE I do this work,... I've never taken my tank off,... But my best friend has had the tank off his ACE a few times and I'm sure he'll help me with this adjustment as well,...
Anyone have a picture? A drawing?,... A page from the repair manual they can scan and E-mail me?,... Or a link to the page in the manual,... I'm REALLY short on fundage and don't want to waste any more money with crooked dealer/stealers,... I can do this,... I know I can,...I apologize and thank you for reading my life story,... I'll wait and patiently read all your comments,... Thanks again,... If any Moderators get a chance to read this,... I know YOU guys will have some great suggestions,... ADIOS,...
