Bought my 99 Shadow ACE 1100 in August been putting alot of miles on it and I have noticed a little oil drip, I have asked around and I was told to check my primary oil but my delima is that I did not get an owners manual with the bike and I am new to honda's need to know how to check the primary oil.

I would suggest getting a Clymer manual. You can pick them up off of ebay or amazon. One of the best things you can get for your bike.

First what I would do is wash the engine real good and get all the grease and oil off, then you can start it up after it has dried and see where the leak is or ride it about 4-5 miles and then see where the leak is. That would head you more in the right direction then just going to someone and telling them that you have a oil leak and them guessing at it. Other wise you could just load a shotgun full of parts and start shooting them at it and still never know. Just my thought.

Oh ya FUCK OFF NOOOB and welcome to the site.

if your ace is like the spirit, the right side case uses silicon to seal the cover instead of a gasket. My guess is it`s dried up over time and needs to be resealed.I would first try to go over the bolt`s with a 1/4 inch rachet(1/4 may prevent from over torquing the bolts)and make sure they are snug.

Thanks for all the suggestions, after a phone lot of phone calls I finally found someone that works on Shadows and is willing to help me out and believe it or not he is only less the 5 miles from my house.
