vance and hines pipes and baffles

my step dad said i need to research the effects of taking the baffles out on my particular bike... he said that some bikes and some pipes sound very bad without the baffles.. anyways i have vance and hines drag pipes and they sound great, but i want them louder.. does anyone know what will happen if i take the baffles out?? i know it will get louder, but will it change the sound much??

A hearty fuck off newbie to you! Welcome to the zoo we call home. I don't have a definite answer for you on your particular pipe. Someone surely will. As for the sound, they can become 'tinny' and loose their rumble without the baffles. You can always add Big City Thunder Baffles (http://www.shadowriders.net/forums/showthread.php?t=36) as discussed in this thread. You could even make them yourself if you have the tools.

Hey Wolfman,...

I go ridin' with my bud Steve all the time,... And he's got the V & H pipes like yours,... I said this before on another thread,... He took out his baffles and he thought it was,... and I quote,... "Stupid loud",... He didn't dig it,... He's been a drummer here in Las Vegas for years and if a drummer who obviously likes loud noises doesn't like his baffles out,... I'd be forced to agree,...

The good news is if you don't like 'em out you can put them back in,... Try it,... Might be just what your looking for,... My V & H Straightshots are baffled and sound really sweet,... Pretty fuckin' loud already,... So I'm happy,... Have fun,... Later,..... YellowMan

well thx.. maybe ill at least try it to see what it sounds like.. then ill put em back in if i dont like em.. i dont know.. im only twenty.. and im all about the looks i get.. so if it is loud but still sounds good ill like it:)... but then again i havent heard HOW loud it will be like ur sayin.. thx
