Not necessarily. I am an employee of NY State. They have a domestic partner provision for health insurance. It costs about 10 bucks a week more than the standard "family plan" but it's for gay couples or people that live together but aren't married.
Susan (my wife) and I had it before we were married.

So, at least here in NY, you do not have to a heterosexual married couple to get health insurance provided by your partners employer.

It was an example of what health insurance provides.

As long as they are paying for their insurance they should have it. Hence the "domestic partner" clause that most places have. It's either for unmarried (heterosexual) couple or gay couples. They do pay a higher premium for that policy.

If you want to quote the Bible, there's a number of curious things I've found that we really ought to be paying a little more attention to. Especially if we're going to use the Bible to shoot down any kind of gay marriage/union thing.

Exodus 35:2,3 You have 6 days to do your work, but the seventh day is to be sacred, a solemn day of rest to me, the Lord. Anyone who does any work on that day is to be put to death. Do not even light a fire in your homes on the Sabbath.

Ok, here is my opinion....Marriage was created by God as a union between a man and women. Not a man and man, or a women and a women.
Homosexuality is a sin in Gods eyes.
Although there is supposed to be a separation between Church and state, and we are supposed to have Religious Freedoms, that's not the case.

I've had a number of gay friends over the past 25 years. Everyone of them that I discussed their 'gayness' with said that they knew at a very young age (6-8 years old). When other boys were talking about girls, they were not necessarily attracted to guys, but were not attracted to girls.

Very true. Guys don't seem to have a problem with hot gay girls. Most gay girls I've known were pretty hot, made me kind of sad actually. Don't disagree with you. I do think that abuse can 'cause' someone to be confused and become gay, a child molester, a murderer or whatever. Hell, most all of the major serial killers were sexually, physically and mentally abused as children, with the stuff Charles Manson went thru, I actually feel just a little bit sorry for him. So I think being gay may be a much better outlet than the alternatives. Maybe has something to do with the way they were abused and how they handle it mentally and emotionally. Someone I know complimented the guys on their bikes and then pointed out my bike. When they asked what it was and the guy told them, they both spit on my tank. I've never had a problem with any brand of bike until today.
I would be surprised if these guys are 30 years old and I would also be surprised if these guys do more than 15 miles in a day, I guess I may have to show them some spit next time they show up.

I don't know that riding a Harley automatically turns you into an asshole. I ride with a few guys who own Harleys from time to time. Sure there is some good natured ribbing that goes on, but that shit you ran into is just flat out stupidity and bigotry. Those guys are probably mad at their daddys for not teaching them how to throw a baseball or some fucked up, deep seated shit like that. You just gotta blow that shit off sometime and just be glad that you're not as fucked up as they are.

I was going to create a new post for this but figured I'd do it here.

Want to apologize for some of the stupid, insulting stuff I've posted here recently. Work's been pretty rough, been in a bad frame of mind and been hitting the juice hard lately. Don't mean to take it out on you guys, unfortunately the internet is an easy target. So Big O, I apologize, didn't mean to cut you down, don't know you and I have no right to judge you.

Hopefully, I'll get my mind right (which may include quitting my job) and I can quit being such a dickhead.

Sometimes you just have to walk. I walked out 6 years ago on a great paying job of 20+ years, company car, pension, the whole package to start new-working for myself. My wife said she got back the man she married. My attitude before I quit got pretty miserable. I told my wife it would be cheaper to quit than hire a lawyer because I killed someone in the office. 6 years later and no regrets. We celebrated our 30 year wedding aniversary this year, I don't think we would have made it if I hadn't walked on the job that was sucking the life out of me.

Bro, I looked at your gallery again, and I can see why they spit on it. They're fucking jealous! One of the reasons that I bought my SS was because it ISN'T a Harley. I've been on and around bikes my entire life and continue to believe that it is all about being an individual and the freedom that comes with that. Harley riders? Fucking sheep! Go into a busy HD stealership and watch them for awhile: drooling over every useless piece of chrome or orange merch simply because it has "HD" on it. Then, they'll spend $70 on a chrome fender strut bolt, because it has HD stamped on the end, and make an appointment to have it installed! We get it up North here in a big way. You're cruising along, every person on a bike gives you the wave. Then there's the HD guy that sees the rad and the hand never leaves the grip. Fuck 'em. I wave at everyone. But, when I stop for coffee, or lunch (and I'm not shy about parking beside Harleys), I now wait and see if they talk to me first. Usually they do, and most are pretty cool. Some don't (posers) and some kill the chat as soon as I tell them (and I usually have to tell them) it's a Honda (real posers). The comment about Chev vs Toyota is right on the money. These dickheads need a history lesson: REAL bikers used to ride anything and everything; HD, Indians, BSA's, Nortons, Triumphs, NSU's and yes, HONDAs! Michelle American-Thunder-Tits and the OCC Family can all lick a nut! Worse yet are the HD die hards on full customs with S&S motors and every piece of aftermarket billet they can find bolted on. There isn't a single Harley part on the whole damn bike! Then again, there isn't much on a modern HD that's actually manufactured in the USA anyhow...Sorry, done venting. Wish there could have been a couple of us with you when the spitting occurred. There would've been a couple of assholes with headaches tongue-washing your tank.

Here's my take.

If gay people want to get married and be miserable like the rest of us I say let em... I agree. People seem to think that there are certain rights that are only there for people like them, and not there for people unlike them. Haven't talked to any gay folk about it, but I'd think the matter of getting a particular church to acknowledge their union is menial. I'd think it'd be more about getting the same legal rights as any other couple. How would you feel if you were with someone for years but couldn't share your medical benefits you pay for through your insurance because you weren't legally married? Why deprive another citizen of the same rights you enjoy because their views or lifestyle differ from yours?

I find it pretty hypocritical that as a whole, we (society) tend to look down on those who look down their noses at people of a different race or religion, but pretty much condone the ridicule of those who's sexual preference is different than yours. Isn't one's sex life traditionally something a bit more personal and thus kept to themselves?

The world would be a different place if people were discriminated for liking getting a blowjob.
