Here are a couple pics of my new bike.....my shadow developed a bad tranny (for the second time) and it was time to say goodbye....

My new ride is an 05 VTX1300R.

WTG on your new ride. Great choice. My hubby has a 04 VTX, loves it. And gee same color as his too...lol. 1st mod advice. New seat. We talked to many X riders at Honda Homecoming & all said they love the bike but hatee the seat. Very uncomfortable. Also NEVER put premeium gas in em either.

First major mod will have to be a sissy bar so the wife will ride with me and so I can carry my fullface for bad weather.....
next will maybe be a driver backrest...I had a Protac on my Shadow (which is for sale btw) and I loved it......Protac doesnt fit on my VTX .....

Of course, I have already transferred by Cruiseline bags and some misc. chrome caps, etc to the X..... :)

I have actually been thinking about a windshield....I have never been a sheild fan, but there is consderably more frontal wind with teh X over the Shadow..I ride year around and it might be something to try....

Would love to put on new (louder) pipes but not that far yet...plus thinking about an extedned warranty and not sure how that would affect it.....

The seat is actually growing on me...I find it a bit more supportive than the opne on my 87 Shadow......but my butt WAS sore after a long weekend ride, so who knows.

might want to look at the slimtab or whatever it is from corbin looks better i think then a winshield
