Intake qusetion

Im thinting of making my own intake like the tornado or boot leg.Anyone know if I will have to coat the inside of it if I use steel tubing?

I would paint it flat black incase of moisture. causing Rust..

I think coating it would be best. Moisture, causing rust in an area that is already beyond the air filter can loosen and make its way into the carbs. That would eventually suck pretty bad. It could score the cylinder walls causing a lack of compression.

I was thinking of usint tank coat on the inside and painting the outside black.Just worried about gettin shit in the engine.
