Damn. Who would've thought leather could burn like that? At least everything turned out ok, other than your ego. Could've been worse. You could've had a motorcycle CHP stop and laugh at you. Or worse yet, a Harley owner. lol
I think we've all had little embarrassing moments like these. I know I have!

Looks like your throw-overs could've use a little more cinch. My brothers from the IAFF saved the day and your bike.

Being that it was California, I am thoroughly surprised that his story doesn't end with " and then they gave me a $700.00 fine for polluting the environment and made me promise to plant a tree!!!".

As much as I am flattered by the offer, I don't think I want anyone with a screen name that begins with "Pretty Boy" from San Francisco planting anything even remotely near my rectum!!!!! But, if the other part of the offer stands, I could always use another tree in the front yard. Come on by and "hook a brother up".

I am glad to see that you didn't lose anything more than a saddlebag in your mishap. BTW, my musings on the political state of the Left Coast was just that, my musings, not a personal attack. Lighten up. Oh, and while were at it, FUCK OFF NOOB, and welcome to the dysfunction!!!!!

No worries, brother. I was wondering, are those Saddleman bags? They look an awful lot like the bags I have on my bike. The closest I've come so far to melting them on the pipes is one of the tie straps made contact and left a nice black mark on the pipes. I don't know if that top pipe of yours is salvageable. Let me know if you find anything to take that burnt crap off of there. If you do, that could be an endorsement deal waiting to happen. Next thing you know, we'll be seeing you on TV with Billy Mayes and Oxyclean!!!LOL

No...these were just plain ole' generic "pleather" bags, they were temp anyway 'till i upgraded...well , i now have a legitimate reason...probobly some "saddlemens" or " tourmasters" My coworker who rides a harley police bike has got some stuff that'll take that right off, i'm not expecting perfection, if it can look halfway decent for now cool, and if i have to replace the pipe...ohh well !
