Since I have found this site, I have found endless amounts of useful information.
This is now an everyday stop for me and I Just wanted to say thanks.

I have been working on a couple seats using the Corpsegrinder solo seat method and using assloads of self tapping screws on thick aluminum really sucks. Although it worked fine. I stumbled across another way to make a seat pan and just wondering if anyone has tried this. Looks like a good idea to me.

I have one on my bike that i made myself and it works great. Just use the sheets and not the thin fibers. I layered mine about 4 times. durable as hell. Then i had it upholstered at a local shop with leather and it looks badass

The staples will hold as long as they are not blunt tips, but you should use some spray glue first to ease the tension on the edges.

My experience with staples in fiberglass is; that if you can get them to go in far enough to hold, they crack the fiberglass and make it very weak around the edges, especially if they are very close together.

I've never used them on a seat pan, but have built several fiberglass speaker boxes and custon trunk panels and have not had much problem with it cracking on the edges. If you are having cracking issues your project might not be think enough.
