Who hoo, its 11:55 p.m. and I just got back from a 400 mile ride, I picked up this book, called Destination Highways, its 345 great roads in Washington state, I went from my house, in Mukilteo, north on the 5 to the Darrington exit, up Hwy 530 through Darrington, and then on to the North Cascades Hwy to Winthrop, had dinner there and then took the roads through Twisp to Wenatchee to Hwy 2 and home, I didnt think it would be 4 hours from Winthrop to home but it was, and since I only ride a 750 and I wasnt sure where all the gas stops would be, I stopped to strech and gas about 80 miles or so except on the way from Hwy 2 to my house. Now I know most of you would not know where most of these places are, but I wanted to share this tale with you, I didnt know a 750 could do it, but with some stops it was a great ride, the rides through the mountains were great, but I do not recomend them at night, some of the twisties were a little harry in the dark.

I know what/where you speak of . I have lived in Portland or Seattle most of my life . I would bet dusk or daybreak would be just as scary with the sun low, in and out of your eyes and deer on the move .

Yeah, I live in Illinois, and to my left is Iowa, and to my right is Indiana. Let me tell you, it's fucking flat and staright!!!!!!! I'd love to ride in the hills, for now I will settle for open roads in the farmer fields.

yea some of the turns in the dark did give me some pucker facktor..lol...but I braked down slower after the first one, and it was kewl from then on. the only deer I did see was in Twisp, I do plan on doing the other rides around here, its just a really kewl book they printed, I just wish they had done it for more states, I did see that they had one for B.C. and Cali.
Sounds like a good ride!
be careful with that night riding! :blackey:
