Can anyone tell me what zie Avon 170 I should go with. I know I have a 15 on the rear but not sure exactly what tire I should be looking for. I am still running the stock as of now.
I was also curious about the new ME880 from metzeler. I saw a thread where it was being discussed but was going to aska couple more questions.
1. Will this tire fit on stock rim (2003 Shadow Spirit VT750)?
2. Will it fit inside my rear fender after lowering the bike 2-2.5"? No 2-up riding.
Thanks guys for any help here. I need a new tire real bad...lol Figured I would lower it and put side mounts plate bracket on at same time.

You might start with AVON (http://www.avonmotorcycle.com/us/en/default.asp). Ask them what they'd recommend for the application (rim width). Update us with the info, please.

Well, I can;t qait for them so I called local dealer and asked them about going up to the Avon 170 and they recomended the Avon AM42 170/80-15 which I am fine with. I ordered one and oredering a side mount tail ight kit and hopefully some different sigs tomorrow. Thanks a lot

I just put the Metzler 880's on mine (front and rear). The rear was the same size as the one you ordered, 170/80-15. It seems to handle a lot better than the stock Bridgestones, as well as a little softer for more grip. Metzler, not to long ago, approved the 200 size for the stock ss750 rim, so you shouldnt have a problem with a 170.
Now a question for you, how does that thing handle with no fender brace between the forks?

Well, I went with what was recomended by the service dept. at the local Honda dealer.

Never notice a difference. I have put about 1200 miles on it since removing and couldn't tell. I put it on if I am going to be doing a lot of riding anywhere there is going to a lot of gravel or if the roads are hot and bubbling...lol Only takes a sec. but looks much better without it. Hoping to adapt a Sporty front fender to it soon.
