first off fuck off noob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I`ve never removed a shaft drive wheel but guessing and mechanicial exp. it should have a splined shaft that slips in the rear diff. take your time and be safe about it,take some pics of it before you do it and remember where everything goes.good luck.

It's easy - put it on the center stand, remove the axle nut, disconnect the brake stay, remove the brake rod nut and pull the rod out of the way, and pull the axle out. Then kinda tug the wheel to the right of the bike to disengage the wheel from the final drivel. Then pull the wheel straight back and away from the bike. If the tire seems to not want to go between the final drive housing and the swingarm, let some air out.

Before re-installing, I highly recommend putting some moly 60 paste on the wheel splines - you can get it from the honda dealer.

thanks man - it's an '88 vt800 which is identical to the 86-87 vt700 except it's got wire wheels, 100 extra cc's and only four gears.

I did a write up on the seat here:
http://www.shadowriders.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2585

The front is lowered about an 1" All you do is open up the forks, pull out the long spacer tube that's on top, and cut an 1" or so off of each one. Make sure you lower the back if you're going to do the front though - otherwise you could end up with negative trail. You can lower the rear without lowering the front, but don't lower the front without lowering the rear.

I haven't posted these yet, here's pics of it as of now:

I have 11" progressive shocks on the rear - they're $199 from phatperformanceparts.com

Originally I had my stock shocks cut down from 13" to about 11 3/4", but I wanted to be a little lower. If you want my cut stockers, I'd sell 'em for $55 shipped. Here's a link where you can see the difference in height:
http://www.shadowriders.net/forums/showpost.php?p=11161&postcount=24

The front fender cracked when I tried to fit a 110 front tire on there - so I took it off and I liked it, so I never put a new one on. I cut down the cracked stocker to use in the rain and for inspection.

The handlebars are Flanders drag bars and the risers are 5" straight risers from Highway Hawk. The signals are Kuryakyn LED silver bullets. If you check out my photo gallery, I've listed all of the mods.
