Went on a run this weekend that included a show'n'shine on Saturday night (Shortlegs came up for the run too). There were about 80 bikes on the run up island. It was an excellent trip all around
At the show'n'shine they did a "biker's choice". This was a Yamaha love fest, most of the bikes were V-stars and road stars. They had classes for all cc's of the v-star and each style in the Star line up. Then there was a class for best Harley, best Honda, Kawi, etc. no seperate classes for cc's in those groups.
Well, I didn't win for best Honda. Not sure if that's because I won best customized bike or not. Not ungrateful for the win, it was nice to have my work appreciated by other riders and win out over the mainly yamaha crowd. I know a lot of the people voting didn't know it was a Honda. All in all it was a great weekend for riding and I'll put the trophy on the shelf and display it with pride for another victory for the Honda Shadow line up!

BTW, nice to see you again Shortlegs. Don't forget about the Port Alberni Toy run in Septemeber. If you need info about it let me know.

Thanks guys. By far this is the biggest trophy I've gotten for the bike. They're pretty cheap up here at the show'n'shines. Mainly plaques and ribbons. This one is an actual trophy cup the Yamaha dealer did up in honour of the passing of a young man that dealt with the dealership and had a passion for customized bikes.

Thanks, it was a real blast. Three days was too much, even though I didn't get to ride with them all the way on Friday (damn work obligations getting in the way of riding!).
Yeah, second time for her in a large group. She did awesome. She also entered her bike, and got the best 650 V-Star ribbon. She was quite pleased with that outcome after I went and put her bike in without telling her.

We haven't been on any runs yet this year. It seems in this area they are all in late summer and early fall, or I'm working that day, or we have my kids that weekend. My son loves to go on them, but Susan can't ride two up so that would leave my daughters out and that wouldn't be fair to them.

Anyway, whenever I go on one. I always enter the bike show at the end just cause it's free and the parking is great. That way I can keep an eye on the bike while enjoying myself.

Congrats to your wife. Why don't you post up a few pics? I forgot what the hell her bike looks like it's been so long. And to add to that I don't recall ever seeing a pic of her either.

C'mon......share :wink_2:

Congrats RJ. Another win for Honda! Those OCC style choppers are a dime a dozen around here and I was at a Hooters, Beauty and the Bike show last Sunday and a VTX won the custom category. It was nice to see the harley guys bitching!! Your wife looks great in Chaps too!! You must be a happy man having a wife that likes to ride! My wife would kill herself on a bike, she can't even drive a stick shift without burning the clutch!

Thanks again guys. I'm fortunate my wife wanted to learn to ride (before last summer she had never driven a standard....so anything is possible Chicagobikenut). Women in chaps are awesome, but just a woman on a bike...mmmm, something about that is always appealing.
Here's a bunch of pics from the 3 day run. http://norwestars.nwff.net/Rides_05/EyesWideOpen_05/html/EyesWideOpena.html

There's another 'huge' car show here this weeken right on the beach. They had a lot of local bike builders there last year. Not sure if I'll put my bike in or not, it'll be a spur of the moment thing. Because of what I've done to my bike, they put me in the same class as the professional custom built bikes. People's choice I stand a chance, but judges around here seem to praise the kit bikes.
