A friend of mine dumped his bike today. Luckily he wasn't hurt. He was riding along and hit a rock (about the size of a tennis ball) and before he knew what was happening, he went down, and his new 05 Spirit 750 was sliding on the road for about 20 feet. Needless to say he needs a new tank, and a bandaid to the knee. Also dammaged were the left turn signals (front and back) rear shock, mirror, foot peg, clutch lever, one of his risers were bent, and his pride. Not to mention the fact that he's my bands drummer and we have a gig this saturday.
I was at work when this all went down, but Jeannie (A.K.A. C@Woman) rode up to the scene about 30 seconds after it happened.
I let her tell the rest, I just wanted to say to all of you...BE CAREFULL! You never know when something is gonna happen to ruin an otherwise great ride.

I was cruising by when I saw this guy on a cell phone paceing up & down the rode next to a parked bike with his blinker on... after looking a little harder, figured out who it was & pulled around to see what the hell was going on. When I looped around his parked bike I saw this huge dent in the tank, looked at him & said Oh my God, are you alright? Well, he was all pumped up on adrenaline so it was kind of hard to tell. He reported the accident, the police called him an ambulance, they patched him up on the scene. Man, was he pissed! He was mad at himself, his bike, the fucking rock he nailed, you name it. M@Man & I went over to his house & had a couple of cold ones with him & let him know that the shit on his bike can be fixed but we can't replace him. Still kind of gnaw it over our minds how bad it could have been, he was lucky. So yeah, what M@Man said "BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!"

DAMN!!! glad he is alright! Same shit happened to me when I first got mine. Following a line of cars and I was riding in the middle of the lane behind the car in front of me and out of nowhere comes this big chunk of metal about the size of a softball just sittin there. I hit the fucker and the front wheel came up, my feet went to the ground instantly and I kept her up. Had to pull over and let some steam off after that! scary shit man! good luck with the bike. ask around, peeps always have shit lying around they aren;t using.
that sucks. Let me know if I can help with some parts.

Glad he's alright. I've got my old stock mirrors from my '03 Spirit 750 if needed. Was gonna Ebay them eventually, but if he can use 'em let me know. :fireman:

Thanks everyone!
Here's an update...He talked to his insurance and the local dealer, and his bike will be just like new in a week or two. As for his knee, he's gonna take it like a man and go ahead and play our next gig @ Slick Ricks in Bloomington, IL from 9 pm to 1 am. (yeah it's a blatent plug but I had to do it :laugh4: )
So, if any of you are in the area, feel free to stop by...Yes C@Woman will be there too :Boobs: .
(Oh yeah, by the way, Slick Ricks is a biker bar...)
Thanks again for the parts offers, and the well wishes.
